Wakoopa Apps report

Wakoopa’s The State of Apps report provides insight into the ways in which desktop and web applications are used. The report features a bad and a good line chart.

The first line chart features some bad color combinations and a legend not connected to the lines in the chart. This makes the chart very confusing and possibly unusable for color blind. They will most likely skip this chart.

The second chart however, is perfectly usable. The legend is placed next to the lines and the colors used serve no purpose other than to differentiate the different programs from each other. Color isn’t the primary method of identification, making this a very usable chart for color blind.

  • It's worth pointing out that the second image was also reduced in size for the blogpost, as when I looked at it I couldn't read the text on it, but checking back to the main site it is at a readable size.
  • great uncommon site!
  • Hey, Kilian from Wakoopa here. I showed this around the office and we unanimously agree, it would be much better if the labels are connected with the line chart in the first example. So we're gonna do this for your Q3 report!

Thanks for liking our other chart! :)
